random roll: december 2007

I just got back a roll of film I sent out to Snapfish, it took them a month to process and send it back to me. This was the first time have I ever had them develop film for me and this took forever. They do a good job at printing and are cheap too, but this was ridiculous. The scans of the film appear to have dust and scratches all over it. This is last time I use them for that, now to find a good local lab.

Anyway these are some of my favorite shots from a roll of film from a month ago:

My Arsenal of Cameras

As a photographer I like to use many tools for my trade, below are my hammers.

This is my workhorse, the Canon 5D. I use it for all my jobs and anytime I want something digital. I used it to take all the photos below.

This is my bang around camera. It is my smallest and most solid. most my free time fun photos are taken with this camera.

This isn't my camera, but I have used it a lot. I plan on borrowing it indefinitely. It shoots square 6x6 medium format and I just love the way a TLR feels.

This is my beast of a large format 4x5 camera which I keep in a dynamite box. I rarely use it anymore except for large polaroids. it is heavy so it is an out of car only or studio camera, both of which I don't have anymore.

This is my SX70 polaroid instant film camera. It is the best polaroid camera in the world, too bad the last person I lent it to broke the focusing on it, so I haven't used it lately. Maybe I'll get it fixed.

And this is my latest addition. The Canon Sure Shot A1 panorama date underwater camera. I have taken three photos with it so far. I cant wait to take it surfing with me next time. look out for photos from this one.

hope you enjoyed a look at my tools.

Communication Arts Photography Competition

Yesterday I received the latest issue of Communication Arts (which I thought expired) and included was an entry form for the annual photo competition. I immediately gave it some thought and didn't think I had created too much this year and realized that everything in this blog has been over the past year and there is some pretty good stuff.

So below are some of my favorite photos. do you think any of them have a shot? I would like to hear some suggestions for entries please. Also be sure to check out each month starting March 2007 to see if there is anything else you like.
