After lots of abuse and abandonment, two of my most colorful surfboards got a face lift. A new wax job. For the first time ever this has been recorded. My secret waxing technique revealed by way of time lapse. My stroke technique is still masked but I will tell you this. I start with the hardest sex wax and work my way to the softest depending on water temp. I only used the 6x 5x and 4x.
But seriously, I was just messing around with the my camera while re-waxing my board, hope you enjoy.
Since I have been shooting 36 frame rolls of film and I am not a trigger happy shooter with film, some of these photos are long over due. My Canon A1 point and shoot underwater camera has become one of my most consistent companions out of all my cameras. Here are some of the things it is good for:
party photos (party poopers)
boat adventures on Lake Forest
train adventures with my lady
crossing pch
self timer, self portraits on my long board
burning people at Malibu
and the reason I bought the camera, photos of toes over
this was my 100th post, my next post should be all black and white photos from my rollei, or possibly something else who knows when.
Here are some photos I snapped at the Costa Mesa Critical Mass on June 27, 2008. This was my brother and I's first Critical Mass and we plan on riding more.
this is only some of the group, if friends want to go next time let me know and we can toss the bikes in the back of the truck and drive the 20 miles to costa mesa.
This is round two of testing the super clamp on my bike. The much longer distance traveled in this experiment revealed some new challenges. The clamp did not falter however the tripod head could not handle the bumps and vibrations and so the camera moved, but did not fall off. The camera is still in tact and I have at least one more attempt up my sleeve before I try to make a solid video.
This is a time lapse of my neighborhood during the course of the fourth of july. I think it is kinda slow but the neighbors want to watch so here it is.
I recently purchased a super clamp with head just for this purpose. I used it to attach my Canon 5D to my bike to make a time lapse video. This is only a test however, I plan on making a better short film that is longer and with more interesting visuals. A video camera would probably be better as would more cyclist in the shot. Anyone have a video camera or interested in riding?
