Wax Job Time Lapse

After lots of abuse and abandonment, two of my most colorful surfboards got a face lift. A new wax job. For the first time ever this has been recorded. My secret waxing technique revealed by way of time lapse. My stroke technique is still masked but I will tell you this. I start with the hardest sex wax and work my way to the softest depending on water temp. I only used the 6x 5x and 4x.

But seriously, I was just messing around with the my camera while re-waxing my board, hope you enjoy.

Bike Mount Test II

This is round two of testing the super clamp on my bike. The much longer distance traveled in this experiment revealed some new challenges. The clamp did not falter however the tripod head could not handle the bumps and vibrations and so the camera moved, but did not fall off. The camera is still in tact and I have at least one more attempt up my sleeve before I try to make a solid video.

Chase Carlson

After not seeing my friend Chase for at least 2 years we decided to have a nice day together. Here are some of my favorite photos of this unique person.

Chase sits everywhere, whether there is a seat or not

just dropping my board off to get fixed at the upholstery shop

Chase driving while I make sure the unstrapped boards don't fly out the back

the paddle

dry take off

surfboard paddling

out to see we go

my feet

a shot Chase took of me in my Huck Fin pants

I actually fell in the water at the end but I ran out of film so there is no shots of that. All of this was recorded with my Canon A1 (the closest at this point to go underwater for a photo) and on Ilford Delta 100, all apart of my black and white film experiment. Stay tuned for underwater shots and some recent work photos.

first roll from my Canon A1

These are some random shots (the first roll) I took with my latest camera some are interesting some are random and some I just felt like sharing.

the best thing about Virgin Atlantic is the airplane socks they give you

this is where I sleep but I really love these colors that came from the window light

a day at the beach with Brandon Byron and Kaleb

cleaning out the garage (testing the panoramic feature and date)

I like the light hitting this hillside on a hike I went on

and I just love trees that stand alone

this camera proved useful however next time it will be used underwater as it should be.

My Arsenal of Cameras

As a photographer I like to use many tools for my trade, below are my hammers.

This is my workhorse, the Canon 5D. I use it for all my jobs and anytime I want something digital. I used it to take all the photos below.

This is my bang around camera. It is my smallest and most solid. most my free time fun photos are taken with this camera.

This isn't my camera, but I have used it a lot. I plan on borrowing it indefinitely. It shoots square 6x6 medium format and I just love the way a TLR feels.

This is my beast of a large format 4x5 camera which I keep in a dynamite box. I rarely use it anymore except for large polaroids. it is heavy so it is an out of car only or studio camera, both of which I don't have anymore.

This is my SX70 polaroid instant film camera. It is the best polaroid camera in the world, too bad the last person I lent it to broke the focusing on it, so I haven't used it lately. Maybe I'll get it fixed.

And this is my latest addition. The Canon Sure Shot A1 panorama date underwater camera. I have taken three photos with it so far. I cant wait to take it surfing with me next time. look out for photos from this one.

hope you enjoyed a look at my tools.
